What it is
IASTM uses a smooth-edged instrument, moved across the skin with oil or lotion, to apply pressure and friction to muscle and fascia. It is used within a regular massage appointment here, not as a separate treatment, and your therapist explains what they are doing before the tool is used.
What to expect
Some redness in the treated area is common and usually fades within a few hours to a day; occasional minor bruising is possible, similar to firm hands-on work. Tell us if you have an event where visible marks matter and we will work by hand instead, or adjust where the tool is used.
